sir,
i am doing my reserach in optimizing integral gain(K) and bias factor(B) of a two area power system(automatic generation control).
the objective funciton is like C=integral x1(t)+x2(t)dt. and c is a function of K,B. and x1(t) and x2(t) are state variables. i want to find the value of K and B which minimize the cost funtion C .

well u know ur cost function..and you want to minimize this cost...

ur cost function must be subjected to some constraints , equality or non equality constraints i mean...

All u need is to write a function in MATLAB and then use fminunc if u r using unconstrained minimization.. it will bring up the value that minimizes ur cost..

or use fmincon that is constrained minimization..
