I have an M file that generates a bar plot where some of the bars are
negative, thus the zero baseline is in the middle of the plot. The x
axis is a date, so I do "datetick('x')" and it "does the right thing"
but...

Sometimes it puts tickmarks on the baseline, sometimes it doesn't. Is
there a way to force it to always put the tickmarks there???

Thanks!
Bruce

Use

set(gca,'Layer','top')

or

set(gca,'TickDir','out')
