Hi Nathan,

thank you for your answer but that command makes the image transparent, appying it rotates surprisingly the ticklabels in 2009a. in addition it produces a stripe in the background image.

I desire to make the axes of the plot transparent in order to have the background image appering in the plot area.

Dear Recep Mansiz

what do you mean with resizing? The background image automatically covers the whole figure area. if you want to use a certain rectangle of the image you just feed this one as background image.

i still wonder if a figure can be stuffed with a background image which also covers the area of an axes.

the problem is my picture does not automatically covers the whole figure area. I'll upload my picture and my figure to show the problem. additionally I have the same problem about the axes. I want to have a graph that has a picture at backround and has axes too...
