Thread Subject: nVidia GeForce low performance

The poor performance of high-end GeForce video cards in MATLAB has been discussed here and on other forums in the past, and I am wondering if anyone has discovered a solution yet? I mean besides disabling VSync, which helps a lot but not enough.
My own story is the usual one (judging from the various forum posts), bought a $500 video card hoping to accelerate 3d graphics in MATLAB and ended up with a 10% slower rendering than with a standard low-end card.
