I am having trouble using the pause command when I type it into the command prompt. When I type pause(1), I get the error:

Error in ==> pause at 6
feval(H.fcns.play,[],[],H.hfig);

Does anyone know why this is happening?

I am using Student R2007a.

you seem to have a file named PAUSE.M in your path...

% look at the result of

     which pause -all;

%{
the first entry should be
     built-in (MATLABROOT\toolbox\matlab\timefun\pause)
rename the offending PAUSE, which shows up as the wrong first entry...
%}
