Hello,

I am currently working with Matlab Simscape in order to simulate a machine tool. Since most of the machine tools use 3 phase synchronous and asynchrounous motors i don?t know if i should go for Simpowersystems or Simelectronics.

1) I have been told that Simpowersystems makes problems when used in Simscape
2) There are only 1-phase motors available in Simelectronics

Thanks for your help!

Dennis

I would say that if your main interest is on the (3-phase) electrical power
system, then SimPowerSystems is better suited. It is possible to couple
Simscape and SimPowerSystems. It really depends what you are intending to
model with Simscape. The best thing to do is probably to contact your local
MathWorks account manager, who can out you in touch with an application
engiener to go into more details.

Arnaud
