On the MacIntosh, in order to "single step" in the debugger, you need to hold down the FN key and the F7 keys.

This gets old quickly. Does anyone know a way to redefine a key for single stepping?

Hi "Pat",

Go to

System Preferences -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard

and check the box that says "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard
function keys".

After that you will have to press fn to get the function printed on the
key (like volume controls, brightness, etc.), but I use those far less
frequently.
