Hi all,
I have the following image:
http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/3250/blobsb.jpg

What I want to do is fill in the gaps between the group of blobs at the bottom. My ultimate goal is to use bwareaopen to get rid of the smaller objects, so I`m left with (or even mostly with) ones only in the area where the stripes were before.

Thank you,
Elad.

I tried something along those lines. Maybe I just didn`t use the correct structuring element. Could you maybe suggest an appropriate one.
Thanks!
