Thread Subject: converting .wav speech file to binary

Hi,
my overall plan is to modulate and demodulate a speech file using ask.A sub-task is to convert the speech data to binary.kindly check below for the data parameters and pls tell me the matlab command i need to do this conversion.

sample per output frame : 256
data sample frequency(fs) : 8000hz
date occupies a channel : 1 ch
data type : double
size : 1 4
data range for my test
speech is :-0.076 to 0.072
