Thread Subject:
Strange ordinate axis limits

Subject: Strange ordinate axis limits

ezplot ('1/x')

chooses abscissa limits of [-2*pi, 2*pi], which are the default values and ordinate limits of [-1.9, 1.9], which seem to be reasonable. With an additional

axis equal

I would expect the ordinate limits to become something like [-2*pi, 2*pi] too. Matlab chooses [18, 28]. Why does Matlab think that I might be interested in a domain where the hyperbola is depicted as a straight vertical line?
