Subject: How do I return alternate simple() representations of an expression?

I am using the symbolic toolbox function simple(). The most insightful representation that is produced is not the shortest representation, so it is not the representation that is returned by the function. For my expression, the desired representation is always produced by the simplification method combine(trig). Some of the simplification methods have their own functions (i.e. collect, simplify, expand, factor) while others do not (i.e. combine, combine(trig), convert(exp), convert(sincos), convert(tan), radsimp, mwcos2sin). Is there any way to perform these latter simplification methods independently or to get the simple function to return a specific representation?

Thank you for your help.
Christopher
