Subject: source code organization - filemanager interface with editor?

Hi folks - over the years I have written hundreds of matlab scripts and functions. I find that need to have easy access to 10-20 at a time - I find the "tab" interface at the bottom of the editor (our version 2008b) very clunky - having to scroll left or right to find the right piece of code to edit.

What would be better would be a file manager (flat list) view, where one could simply click on a name to have it open in the editor, you could see many more .m files in a flat list.
Is there any way to accomplish this?

Thanks,
R Haynes

You can drag that "tab interface" to the side of the Editor window, if you
want to show more files at once.

Related to this, I work on multiple projects at a time, with each
having maybe 20-30 m-files. Is there a fast way to quickly switch from
having set A (with 20 files) open to having set B (with 25 different
files) open?
In short, I would like to save a set of open files as a project (as
basically all other IDEs work).

Best,

Markus
