what happens when you try installing it?

I am experiencing the same problem.

I am running windows 7 64 bit Pro and I am trying to install matlab 2010a on my laptop.
When I start the installer. The splash windows appears however afterwards no output on the screen appears. Meanwhile the process setup.exe in my task manager takes up completely one processor core. I've tried installing other 64 bit versions and I experienced that also release 2009b is experiencing the same problem. Only the installer of release 2009a is working properly.

Please help me!

I am experiencing the same problem.

I'am running win 7 64 bit Pro and trying to install matlab r2010a. When I start the installer the splash screen appears, however then nothing happens. Meanwhile in my taskmanager the process setup.exe takes up completely one core of my processor.
I don't have a physical disc but i am using the java webinstaller. After downloading I also tried manually double clicking on setup.exe which leads to the above mentionned behaviour.

I've also tried installing other 64 bit releases and I experienced the same with release 2009b. Only the installer of release 2009a is working properly.

please help!

There is a problem with compatibility in the version of Java which Matlab Uses. To fix it:
Before Installing
1. Change the Windows 7 theme to "Windows Classic"
2. Now the Install will work correctly.

After installing
1. Download the latest Java and install it (If you already do skip this step)
2. Go to C:\Program Files\Java you will find file named jer6
3. "Copy and Replace" its contents to C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2010a Student\sys\java\jre\win32/jre

Now you can use matlab with all themes.
