I've been sent a compiled Matlab executable (for Windows) for which I'm told I need Compiler Runtime (MCR) version 7.10. Where do I download this?

You get it from the person who compiled your code. They have it and
should have sent it to you. That's what I do with my end users.

thanks! I've asked them for it. But no doubt it's too big to email; surely Mathworks hosts these things somewhere for download to make this process easier??

No, Mathworks doesn't. The licensing terms of MCR require that you
distribute the runtime to your authorized users. I do not know why
Mathworks choose that licensing model, but it does, and having chosen
it, it cannot make the runtime available -- and if you put the runtime
up on a file sharing site, then you are responsible for ensuring that
only authorized users are able to download it.

If you can't find it on their web site, then I probably couldn't
either.

They can send up to 2 GB here:
http://www.yousendit.com/
The MCRInstaller.exe is only about 174 MB so they can easily send it.
Or they can mail it to you on a CD as a last resort.

Yes, he knows it's there (in the compiling computer's folder). But
the person who compiled it for him was unwilling to email it to him,
according to his earlier message. That's why I suggested
yousendit.com or a plain old CD.

This is probably way too late but you may now download the MCR directly from MathWorks for Windows, Linux and Mac from:
http://www.mathworks.com/products/compiler/mcr/index.html

Hi Mike, even I have been given a compiled Matlab executable & I need MCR version 7.16 (for 64-Bit Linux machine) to run it. Mathworks are providing only the latest version (i.e. MCR-7.17) in their website. I have been frantically searching for it for the past 3-4 weeks until I came across this post of yours. Please guide me what to do ? I read what the other people have suggested, but I havent understood the solution.
PLEASE HELP

There is no website where you can download the MCR (up to 7.16). You need to request the author of the code to provide it.
