I failed to use help to find the information about these two methods (datenummx & dtstr2dtnummx) in datenum.m. Who would help give an explanation?

The "mx" reminds to the MEX-nature of the function. Look for the files datenummx.c and dtstr2dtnummx.c in the toolbox folders.
I do not know the 2nd, but the first is part of Matlab standard toolboxes.
