That's almost as vague as just asking for the answer to question 3.

Post: your code, a sample image or plot, and explain what exactly you want.

You know where the square went, right? So just use
subImage = fullImage(row1:row2, col1:col2);

so if i'm not mistaken, row1 is a line, so is with row2, col1, and col2?
