Hi!

I'm a new user of MATLAB. I'm having a problem & I want MATLAB Community to assist me through MATLAB.

Problem Satement:
How can I make a user interactive simulation which can draw Topolgies like
a) Star
b) Mesh (2D, 3D or nD)
3) Bus
4) Hypercube etc.

Could any one please tell me how to use MATLAB effectively for doing this?

Thanks in advance for all the MATLAB community?

Just a few questions initially: 1) is it a 2D star? 2) a bus? again, 2D or 3D, would an image/photo/CAD model of a bus suffice, or do you actually mean how to draw a bus in MATLAB? Also, what do you mean by an 'interactive simulation'? a GUI? in what way does it need to be interactive? do the geometries need to be parametric?

Have a think about exactly what you want before trying to use MATLAB to do it.

I would also recommend you look at the MATLAB documentation (type doc in the command window), specifically the graphics and 3D visualization sections.

Be patient! You asked a VERY broad question at quarter past 7 AM (EDT) on a
Sunday (when many of the readers were probably still asleep or working on
their first cup of coffee.) You posted your second message 20 minutes
later, and then posted your third message a couple of hours later.

I recommend that you read through and execute the examples in the Getting
Started section of the documentation, which you can open using the DOC
command. Once you've done that, you should have enough basic information to
take a first pass at trying to implement the GUI. [Hint: one of the
sections in Getting Started, if I remember correctly, is titled "Creating
Graphical User Interfaces" or something similar.] Once you've taken a first
pass at implementing your GUI, if you have further more SPECIFIC questions,
feel free to ask them on CSSM (this newsgroup.)

Hi!

Interactive in a sense that it needs to parametric
1) Bus & Star are simple 1D
2) This time an bus model would be enough but ideally speaking i also want to know
how to draw actually bus in matlab.

and thanks for your advice, From next time I will follow it.

Regards
Bran

1D? surely 2D. it seems a very strange request to want to set up a parametric diagram of a bus. you will need to define what you want to be parametric. then use plot functions to draw the lines based on coordinate points. patches could be used to provide colour. if you want to just show a 3D cad model then look in the file exchange at the several cad import functions.

a star is simpler. so a parametric star in your case would be defined based on what? number of points? diameter? again, you can use plot functions to do this.

I would suggest you make a start using the documentation and once you have some code then post a specific problem.
