  I have a curve. I have to fit it with a known equation and then I have to find out a parameter from that equation. How can I do this.

Hi Som

Let assume that you know values of the curve in several points. If your "known function" is a linear combination of known functions of independent variables at that points, your problem is a linear regression, otherwise you have to use nonlinear regression.
You may not expect better answer to your vague question.

You can also use the curve fitting toolbox:
