After a long simulation my simulation crashes due to out of memory. Clearing all variables doesn't help. Using latest matlab 2010. See the result of memory:

after working long time and crash:
>> clear all
>> memory
Maximum possible array: 8 MB (8.425e+006 bytes) *
Memory available for all arrays: 167 MB (1.747e+008 bytes) **
Memory used by MATLAB: 1544 MB (1.619e+009 bytes)
Physical Memory (RAM): 3036 MB (3.183e+009 bytes)

when matlab starts:
>> memory
Maximum possible array: 1314 MB (1.378e+009 bytes) *
Memory available for all arrays: 1491 MB (1.564e+009 bytes) **
Memory used by MATLAB: 272 MB (2.857e+008 bytes)
Physical Memory (RAM): 3036 MB (3.183e+009 bytes)

I need a method to clear matlab heap (?) from time to time but without quitting matlab and restarting!
