2D colour plots

Hello,

I'm trying to make a 2d plot very much like those created by pcolor, but I want the colour of a given unit cell on the plot to be given by a single specified value, i.e., pcolor usually turns a nxn matrix into an (n-1)x(n-1) plot - I don't want the colour to be represented by the difference/mean (whatever) of the data points but the actual number I specify.

Can anyone help me with this problem please?

Yes, that's why I never ever use pcolor. I use imshow() and
colormap(). If you don't have the Image Processing Toolbox, you can
use image() instead of imshow().
