how to display dos command prompt history in matlab dialog

Hi, I am running stand alone matlab GUI application. This application is using system command, while running the simulation, control is transferring to the dos command prompt and this dos prompt is below my main GUI window.
I am unable to see the process of running, so I want to display the dos command prompt history to the dialog or some other window(It means that I want to transfer the command prompt to some window like dialog so that I can observe the simulation).
I am sure there will be one option in matlab..
can any one help me please..
