Currently, my ylabel looks like this:

ylabel('{\itv} (A_1)',','fontsize', 16)
set(get(gca,'ylabel'),'Rotation',0.0)

However I would like it to look like this:
{\itv}
(A_1)

so the '(A_1)' bit is vertically underneath the '{\itv}' bit. I've tried using '\v' but I can't get this to work and not even sure if this is the right command to use.
Thanks,
J.
