Thread Subject: UIMenu issues in GUIDE

Dear Readers
I have a strange problem with the menu editor inbuilt in GUIDE.
I make a small GUI with some menu's like File--> Open Solution ,, etc
I save my GUI as myGUI.m and myGUI.fig, respectively
when I call myGUI.m from command prompt I can access the menu items that I had created. But if I use this command
h = myGUI;
set(h,'WindowStyle','Modal');
Then I dont see my menu items any more.. What could be the problem
