Well I have two systems. One rotates the object and uses a line scan
camera to build up a picture of the cylindrical object one column at a
time. Another system I built translates a flat object in one
direction but also builds up the image line by line with a line scan
camera. Of course maybe just an ordinary flatbed scanner might be
appropriate in your application. No one can really help very much
because you haven't given enough explanation.

i want to scan image to calculate pixels on the boundary of object. how can I?

Why don't you just use bwboundaries() or bwperim()? If those don't
work for you, explain in detail why they don't, and post your image on
some web site to help your explanation.
