How to separate multiple point cloud from each other, I read in one file which might contain multiple point clouds.

I am thinking of using convexhull for area, does this function work on 2d data.

A diagram or sample code would help here.

Off the top of my head I'd think you need some kind of cluster
identification/classification method like fuzzy c-means, k-nearest
neighbor, etc. rather than convex hull. Convex hull would get
everything unless you already had the separate clusters identified,
which you don't.
