I am new in matlab can i ask someone if image acquisition toolbox is really needed for video device recognition i was making gui then got error....

Not sure what you mean by video device recognition - do you mean the
ability to recognize some device/object in a video? The Image
Acquisition Toolbox is not needed if you aren't snapping images and
are just reading in images stored on disk. You might then want the
Image Processing Toolbox, but it's not absolutely necessary if you
want to write all the routines yourself. If you need to see if
cameras are connected to your computer then you could always use low
level system or API calls or calls provided by the camera manufacturer
(you'll need loadlibrary and some other functions to load and use
their DLL).

i have a GUI, then i have a camera....

i was trying to test if my camera if it's really working on the gui... i do have a code here!

do you have skype? yahoo? i wanted to ask a little help for this.. =(

i dont have a boss i am a student only...

Type ver on the command line and see if you have the image acquisition
toolbox installed. If not, you're in for a bit of complicated
programming. Sorry I can't give individualized help via skype or
email.
