I tried to read the dcm files, but got error as below.
 Error using ==> dicomread>newDicomread at 223
Unsupported data encoding.

Error in ==> dicomread at 78
    [X, map, alpha, overlays] = newDicomread(msgname, frames);

And I also try that one you have told us.

Add this line to the end of that subfunction:
metadata.TransferSyntaxUID = deblank(metadata.TransferSyntaxUID);

but it still have the same error .and I can't find the detail below .

please tell me the solution. I have windows 7 and matlab r2010a.

I have solved the problem. I try the latest version 2011a today ,and suddenly everything is going so well. So ,just use the latest version.and I think we should say thanks to Jeff,he must have done a lot of works about it.
