When I save a Matlab figure (it is a 2D countor plot) as an .eps file either via direct saving or exporting options, I cannot open it in Corel (I have version X4) either directly or with the import option, it says the file cannot be opened. I need to produce high quality figure in the eps format that then I need to combine with some others in Corel. Does anyone know what the problem is or any other methods of producing high quality eps files for figures? I have looked through the file exchange but cannot find anything suitable. Thanks, Z

OK found what the problem is that I can't open the file in Corel, when saveas or use the print to write the .eps file, it is necessary to export it with a TIFF preview using -tiff
