Hi all, I'm working on control system toolbox. I've obtained a system which is in MIMO form with 2 inputs and 2 outputs. I'd like to decouple the system and design the controller. What are the techniques that are available to perform the same? Will the system become two SISO systems? Is there any relation between the two separate loops? If possible, can you please include matlab code performing the same on a MIMO system?

I am also working on the MIMO system. I have 5 inputs and 2 outputs and my system is also coupled. But in my case I can't decoupled it.
I am also looking for some help.
Hvae you any idea how to deal with these type of system ?

I am having quite the same problem but since my MIMO system is quite big, I need something more specific: do you know any forum where to ask some questions about decoupling control?

For linear time-invariant systems there is a geometric framework developed by M. Wonham & S. Morse (US) and G. Basile & G. Marro (IT). B.Moore and A. Laub published some work on numerical implementation.

An algebraic approach was developed by P. Falb, E. Gillbert and others.

 Some applications to aircraft control are reported by Cliff & Lutze.
