Dear All,

I'm using WinMerge to compare some text files. I'm triggering it using Matlab's 'dos' command. Which works fine, other than that Matlab doesn't move on until I shut the application of WinMerge which was opened.

Does anyone know of any way around this? Is there some way of making the dos command not wait for the opened application to be closed?

(This is perhaps more of a DOS question than a Matlab one, so apologies if this offends anyone's sensibilities...)

By adding the trailing '&' character

>> dos('notepad &')

Magic!

Thanks a bunch. (I wish I'd known this a while ago. Though I suppose that just means I should have asked a while ago...)
