Hi

When you compute the gradient of an image (8bit, grayscale), then is the result vector or scalar ?

I mean that does grad(I(x,y)) return vector values or scalar values ?

A vector.
grad(I(x,y)) = (dI(x,y)/dx, dI(x,y)/dy)
