Subject: running multiple matlab command-line instances concurrently

We are trying to run multiple instances of a matlab script concurrently on a Linux server.

We are executing it as follows:

matlab -nodisplay -nosplash -nodesktop -r "script.m"

script.m has an exit; command as its last statement.

This works fine as long as we only execute one instance of the script at a time.

If we try to run multiple instances using ruby "green threads", the script works fine, but when the script completes, our terminal no longer displays typed characters.

Any ideas? Thanks!
