I have saved an image in ascii format. I have 65536 real data point in a array. I want to write it in array of 256 by 256. I have used y=reshape (a,256,256) command and it is giving 16 by 256 matrix. WHy it is so? Will I able t o reconstruct the image with this matrix form?

Dear sudipta,

y=reshape (a,256,256) will definitely not reply a 16 by 256 matrix.
I'm convinced that the test you've applied to check this, is wrong.

Kind regards, Jan
