Dr. Badr Kaoui is a CNRS Associate Scientist at the Biomechanics and Bioengineering Laboratory (BMBI) of the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (France). His research activities fall into the areas of biophysics and complex fluids with applications in biomedical engineering. In particular, he is interested in studying biomedical systems that involve fluid-structure interaction and transport phenomena, such as, targeted drug delivery in the vascular system using drug-carrier particles. He uses and develops state-of-the-art numerical methods to perform multi-physics computer simulations. In the past, he contributed to study pattern formation (wrinkles and dendrites), dynamics and rheology of fluid-filled soft particles (capsules, vesicles and blood cells) and nanoparticles (nanofluids and their contribution to the stability of liquid-liquid interfaces).
