Inverted Pendulum with Joystick Control

Description

This is a variant of the virtual reality inverted pendulum example which allows several methods of setpoint definition input:

  • random
  • using mouse
  • using joystick

This model serves as an example of how a model is controlled interactively with a joystick as the input device. The joystick functionality is performed in the Joystick Input Simulink block.

The setpoint position controlled by joystick is visualized in the virtual world (green cone) and introduced to a 2-dimensional PID controller which controls the pendulum base movement.

  • MATLAB 6.1 or higher
  • Simulink 4.1 or higher
  • Virtual Reality Toolbox 2.0 or higher
  • Computer with hardware 3D graphics support
  • Windows - compatible Joystick
