Simulink Report Generator

Web View Exporting in Simulink Report Generator

Web View Exporting is a new feature in Simulink Report Generator. It enables you to create an interactive rendition (Web view) of your Simulink model or Stateflow diagram in HTML format. Web View Exporting works with all standard Simulink blocks, as well as with all Simulink blocksets and custom-built blocks. Web view also works with Stateflow. You can navigate Web views to access lower-level susbsystems and to view parameter names and values for each system, chart, block, and line in your model. You can share the Web view with colleagues who may not have MathWorks products installed. In this example we show you how to create a Web view for the car automatic climate control system model in Simulink.

Using a Web view in a Web browser requires SVG support in the browser, implemented natively or through a plug-in. It does not require MathWorks products to be installed. SVG support is built into Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or later, and is also available for downloading with Microsoft Internet Explorer at this location:

You can view and navigate the Web view file we created for the Car Automatic Climate Control System here:

There are minor differences in working with Web views in Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. For example, in Microsoft Internet Explorer you can right-click to launch a shortcut navigation menu. This menu contains the Find Text command. There is no shortcut menu in Web view in Mozilla Firefox.

Sharing Web Views

When you create a Web view file, Simulink Report Generator creates an HTML file and a directory with the same name as the HTML file, containing supporting files.

You can share Web view files with your colleagues by providing them with both the HTML file and the supporting directory.
