IMAT | Interface for MATLAB, Analysis and Test
Expand the functionality of I-deas using the power of MATLAB
Highlights
- Read simulation data including: Nastran punch, OP2, Nastran DMI, DMIG matrices, and ABAQUS ODB files
- Read and write associated data files (ADFs) and universal files to and from MATLAB
- Operate on time history, function, shape, and result data while preserving data attributes
- Many math and other operations defined for each of the data types for easy data processing
- Select, sort, and filter multiple data sets using built-in filter and coordinate trace data types
- Plot time history data and animate mode shapes
Description
IMAT is a suite of utilities that facilitate data sharing between MATLAB and several analysis tools and test software. ATA's IMAT Toolbox provides a framework for easily importing FEA (finite element analysis) simulation data and measured test data into the MATLAB environment to access its versatile programming and mathematical strengths. With the IMAT Toolbox, test and simulation data such as mode shapes, time histories, spectra, and other functions can be viewed and manipulated in MATLAB with all of the data attributes preserved.
With the release of IMAT+, users will have the capability to import simulation data and results from Nastran or ABAQUS directly into MATLAB. IMAT+ also offers a new and more advanced GUI (graphical user interface) for plotting functions and editing function attributes. The IMAT+ functionality is included in the IMAT package, and requires an additional license key to enable.
Both test and simulation engineers can benefit from the capabilities of IMAT. IMAT gives engineers easy access to acquired data from I-deas, Abaqus, or Nastran, enabling them to perform custom processing on the data; write custom curve-fitting methods, or perform specialized filtering using MATLAB. IMAT also enables users to reduce FEM data sets to import into MATLAB for further processing and to import FEM connectivity into MATLAB to view and animate mode shapes, either from test or analysis. IMAT allows you to extend analysis and test capabilities with the power of MATLAB.
