Description

By integrating a series of Genix software-configurable I/O channels with an xPC Target processor, the Genix System for xPC Target provides a stand-alone platform for real-time simulation, control, and data acquisition systems. It is useful for hardware-in-the-loop simulation and test applications and for those situations where space is limited or mobility is essential.

The required functionality is first modeled on a host computer in one environment using Simulink, Stateflow, and the Genix I/O configuration utility. The model is then compiled in Real-Time Workshop and automatically downloaded to xPC Target. The host computer can then be removed altogether or used as an operator interface to the model running in the target. The system is typically used to develop and prototype real-time software prior to the availability of any custom hardware. It also provides generic functionality to facilitate development of external equipment.
