Description

N6030A

Keysight's N6030A arbitrary waveform generator creates complex wideband waveforms. High sampling rate and high bit resolution, provided in a single instrument, enable designers to create ideal waveforms for accurate testing of radar, satellite, and frequency-agile systems. Each channel of the N6030A provides 500 MHz of modulation bandwidths and over 65 dBc of spurious-free dynamic range. When the N6030A is combined with a wideband I/Q upconverter, modulation bandwidth of 1 GHz can be realized at microwave frequencies for authentic signal simulations for IF and RF subsystem test.

Typical users of the N6030A are R&D engineers developing radar, satellite, and frequency-agile communication systems. These users are often waveform analysts and system engineers who require reference waveforms to validate receiver subsystems and algorithms. The product also helps these same engineers to validate the performance of a transmitter upconversion chain. The MATLAB interface allows users to create and play complex waveforms through the N6030A without ever having to leave the MATLAB command line. Since modern radar waveforms can be quite large (over 30MB in some cases), this gives the user a significant time-saving by eliminating the need to export these files to another program for playback.
