Description

DYNA4 is an open simulation environment for the virtual test driving of cars and commercial vehicles. The physical models include vehicle dynamics, powertrain, combustion engines, electric motors, sensors, and traffic. Virtual test drives with DYNA4 facilitate safe and efficient function development and testing. Closed-loop simulations on the PC run faster than in real-time, such as for use in early development stages (MIL, SIL), or simulations can be executed on hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems when ECUs are available. DYNA4’s 3D environment simulation with road infrastructure and traffic provides virtual test fields for assisted and automated driving wherever environment perception plays a key role.

The DYNA4 model repository provides modular vehicle model components in Simulink libraries, including vehicle dynamics, hydraulics, electrics, drive train, truck, engine dynamics, ADAS sensors, and environment.  Users can extend this repository with their own model components, compose their simulation models and parametrize them via comfortable user interfaces. Transparent signal flow via extensions to the Simulink bus enhances the usability of Simulink models through the open and modular model architecture in MATLAB® and Simulink. DYNA4 also provides an interface to Simulink for user-defined model extensions and integration of control functions.  DYNA4 allows users to automate simulation control, model parameterization, parameter variation, result analysis, and report generation, continuously from MIL to HIL.

Supported development areas include vehicle dynamics and drivetrain concepts, engine control, advanced powertrain development and energy management, and driver assistance systems.
