MATLAB Distributed Computing Server
There are three flavors of Portable Batch System (PBS) currently available:
Parallel Computing Toolbox and MATLAB Distributed Computing Server directly support PBS Pro and TORQUE schedulers. As a result, the products can be used in most computing environments managed by these schedulers without any extra setup. It is possible to customize the integration of MathWorks products for your specific requirements by modifying the integration scripts, which use the underlying generic scheduler interface API available with the products.
The products provide sample integration scripts that you can readily adapt for OpenPBS versions. All versions have the ability to manage multiple applications that include MathWorks parallel computing products.
PBS Pro offers several features, including:
TORQUE offers several features, including:
Compared to PBS Pro and TORQUE, OpenPBS has a limited feature set.
TORQUE supports Linux and UNIX platforms only. PBS Professional also supports Windows XP and Windows 2000 platforms.
All three have the ability to manage multiple applications that include MathWorks parallel computing products.
