Embedded IDE Link 4.0

Product Description

Introduction

Embedded IDE Link™ connects MATLAB® and Simulink® with embedded software development environments. Embedded IDE Link lets you generate, build, test, and optimize embedded code for prototyping or production. It automates debugging, project generation, and verification of object code executing on an embedded processor or on the instruction set simulator provided by your integrated development environment (IDE). You can reuse MATLAB code or Simulink models as a test bench for processor-in-the-loop (PIL) testing of handwritten or generated code.

You can use Embedded IDE Link with Real-Time Workshop® and Real-Time Workshop Embedded Coder™ to generate complete projects in the supported IDE that can be built into a standalone real-time executable on the embedded processor. The generated project includes not only the generated application C code, but also the embedded framework software required to initialize, schedule, and manage the execution of the application code on the processor in real time.

You can use MATLAB to interactively analyze and debug code (handwritten or generated) that executes on the embedded processor or on an instruction set simulator through the IDE, and visualize execution results using MATLAB graphics. You can also rapidly prototype your designs and perform processor-in-the-loop testing on all supported processors through the use of a test harness model in Simulink to verify object code executing on the instruction set simulator or the target processor.

Combining MATLAB, Simulink, Real-Time Workshop, and Embedded IDE Link to provide an integrated platform for generating, debugging, visualizing, and verifying embedded software on microcontrollers (MCUs) and digital signal processors (DSPs).
