Supported Hardware - Keithley Instruments

Keithley Instruments designs, develops, manufactures and markets complex electronic instruments and systems geared to the specialized needs of electronics manufacturers for high-performance production testing, process monitoring, product development and research.

MATLAB® is a software environment and technical computing language with over 1,000,000 users.  MATLAB software is used to control instruments, make measurements, analyze data, and build test systems.  You can analyze and visualize data in MATLAB using interactive tools and command-line functions for data analysis tasks such as signal processing, statistical analysis, digital filtering, and curve fitting.

Keithley Instruments is a MathWorks Connections partner and has made a significant investment to create and test MATLAB instrument drivers for multiple Keithley instruments. MATLAB drivers are available for the Keithley 2910 and 2920 Vector Signal Generators, 2810 and 2820 Vector Signal Analyzers, and 3706 System Switch.

Specifically, Keithley has created MATLAB Instrument Drivers that utilize IVI instrument drivers also created by Keithley.  The application note called “Using MATLAB Software with Keithley Instruments through IVI Instrument Drivers” will explain how to use download, install, and use both IVI and MATLAB instrument drivers.

To get started, locate the MATLAB instrument driver for your Keithley instrument on MATLAB Central.  Instructions on downloading the IVI instrument driver for the specific Keithley instrument are provided in the description for the MATLAB instrument driver.

Note: Even If a MATLAB driver is not available for your instrument, you can communicate directly with the instrument using one or more instrument communication protocols including GPIB, VISA, TCP/IP, UDP, and serial. A VXIplug&play instrument driver may also be available for your instrument.
