Using EDA Simulator Link™ DS with Simulink®

With the Simulink cosimulation capability, Simulink is the client and the Synopsys simulator the server. Simulink is synchronized with the Synopsys simulator by scaling seconds in Simulink to seconds or ticks in the HDL simulator. You can connect a Simulink model with one or more cosimulation blocks to one or more Synopsys simulators.

Using Simulink and related blocksets, you can create system-level representations of signal processing or communications systems. You can then incorporate HDL components into the design or replace existing subsystems with HDL blocks to create software test benches to validate your HDL implementation. EDA Simulator Link DS also includes a block for generating value change dump (VCD) files that you can use to:

• View Simulink simulation waveforms in your HDL simulation environment
• Compare results of multiple simulation runs, using the same or different simulation environments
• Provide input to post-simulation analysis tools
