OPC Toolbox 2.1.4

OPC Toolbox Block Library Tutorial

The OPC Toolbox block library provides blocks for interacting with OPC servers from a Simulink model. The following example demonstrates how to use the OPC Configuration block to configure OPC servers and control OPC-specific simulation behavior, and how to use the OPC Read and OPC Write blocks to read and write OPC data from a Simulink model.

Note: In order to run this demonstration model, you must have downloaded and installed the Matrikon OPC Simulation Server, available from http://www.matrikon.com.

In the following model, all OPC Toolbox blocks are highlighted yellow.

The signal from the Sine Wave block is written to the OPC Server using the OPC Write block. The same signal is read back from the server using the OPC Read block, and displayed in the Scope. In addition, the Quality is displayed in the Display block.

The sine wave that is read back from the server is delayed by two samples: One sample to write the data and another sample to read the data back from the server. A quality value of 192 means that the quality is good.
