The RF Blockset™ contains mathematical and physical amplifier blocks. This demo shows the two-tone intermodulation performance of two mathematical amplifiers and four physical amplifiers.

Two-Tone Intermodulation of RF Amplifiers
The following figure shows the two-tone output spectrums of the linear and nonlinear mathematical RF amplifiers. The linear mathematical amplifier is characterized by its linear gain and the nonlinear mathematical amplifier is characterized by its IIP3.

The following figure shows the two-tone output spectrums of one linear and three nonlinear physical RF amplifiers. The linear physical amplifier is characterized by its S-parameters, which are taken from the default.s2p file. The three nonlinear physical amplifiers are characterized by their OIP3, OIP3-P1dB and Pin-Pout data.

To view the intermodulation performance, double-click the Slider Gain block and change the value of the gain while the model is running.
