Real-Time Windows Target

Product Description

Introduction

Real-Time Windows Target enables you to run Simulink® and Stateflow® models in real time on your desktop or laptop PC for rapid prototyping or hardware-in-the-loop simulation of control system and signal processing algorithms. You can create and control a real-time executable entirely through Simulink. Using Simulink Coder, you generate C code, compile it, and start real-time execution on your Windows®-based PC while interfacing to real hardware using PC I/O boards.

Real-Time Windows Target includes I/O device drivers to support an extensive selection of I/O boards, enabling you to interface to sensors, actuators, and other devices for experimentation, development, and testing of your real-time systems.

You can edit your Simulink block diagram and use Simulink Coder to create a new real-time binary file. This integrated environment lets you implement your designs quickly—without lengthy hand coding and debugging.

Key Features

  • Runs models in real time on your desktop or laptop PC
  • Enables signal acquisition and parameter tuning
  • Works with more than 250 PC I/O boards for real-time input and output, including PCMCIA cards for portable rapid prototyping on laptop computers
  • Enables control of real-time model execution directly from the Simulink toolbar, creating a "PC-in-the-loop" prototyping environment
  • Achieves sample rates exceeding 5 KHz for most models
  • Includes a C compiler for building real-time code
  • Supports Simulink external mode, enabling you to use other products and Simulink scopes without additional interface blocks
  • Supports Simulink configuration sets for convenient switching between simulation and real-time execution modes
