Specifying and Computing Operating Points
Linear control design typically requires you to consider multiple operating points so as to account for the various set points of a nonlinear model. Simulink Control Design provides several ways to determine model operating points. You can:- Calculate steady-state operating points from user-defined setpoints using gradient-search and direct-search optimization methods
- Take operating point snapshots at specific times or events during simulation
- Import previously computed operating points from the MATLAB workspace, a file, or another linearization project

You can design controllers by manipulating plots (left) or by tuning parameters using automated and interactive techniques (right). Click on image to see enlarged view.
