Version 5.1

Released: 07 Mar 2005

  • In the wrapping mode conversion from floating-point to integer (fixed-point) data types, you can now set the generated code to be efficient or portable.
  • Level 2 m-file S-functions now support fixed-point data types.

Additional fixed-point updates are available in Stateflow, the Signal Processing Blockset, and the Video and Image Processing Blockset.

Version 5.0.1 includes bug fixes.

Version 5 (formerly Fixed-Point Blockset)

Released: 02 Jun 2004

  • Integration of all fixed-point blocks into the Simulink library
  • Increased functionality with the Signal Processing Blockset, including more than 80 blocks with fixed-point support, and easier transition from floating-point signal processing designs
  • Autoscaling within Stateflow
  • Improved fixed-point code generation with additional optimizations
  • Ability to view fixed-point signal values in decimal, BIN, or HEX format
  • Ability to independently verify fixed-point algorithms in MATLAB with the Fixed-Point Toolbox (now available to all Simulink Fixed Point customers)

If you use the Fixed-Point Blockset, visit MathWorks Release 14 product changes for additional information.

Known Problems and Corrections

Version 4.1 corrects the following known problems:

  • The Plot System dialog, accessible from the Fixed-Point Settings interface, no longer plots the wrong signal or issues incorrect error messages
  • Fixed-Point Settings interface is now usable on systems that define large default system fonts
  • A fixed-point multiplication error, that occurred in very specific circumstances for simulation only, has been corrected
