MOSFET Converter

This example illustrates the use of the MOSFET in a Zero-Current Quasi-Resonant Switch converter

Circuit Description

The MOSFET is used in a Zero-Current-Quasi-Resonant Switch converter topology. In this topology, the device current flows through the resonant tank (Lr, Cr), thus causing zero current turn-off. The load is modeled as an ideal current source (Io=5A). The MOSFET is driven by a 2 MHz pulse train with 20 % duty cycle.

Note: In order to avoid cascading a current source (MOSFET) and an inductance (Lr), a 100k ohm resistive snubber is connected across the MOSFET.

You may also discretize this circuit by selecting Discretize electrical model in the Powergui block. A 5 nanoseconds sample time is specified.
